DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Construction/Material Coordinator 3

Location: Pomona CA 91768

Pay rate: 28.74 per hour

Contract for 18 months or longer

Schedule: M-F 8-5

Education Requirement

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload

  • Serves as primary point of contact between the client project managers and material supply vendors regarding long term (long lead material), as well as day-to-day coordination of construction projects, and associated problem identification, resolution, and follow up
  • Provides coordination of project material and forecasting needs between the T&D OU, Procurement, Vendors, and Supply Management AOR's in the area of Capital Projects, as well as maintenance work orders, etc…
  • Coordinates or assists in the coordination of project planning, designing, and procurement processes; collaborates and interprets various signals in the core SAP system, as well as Access and Excel databases for project plans, construction documents, and specifications within the various client locations
  • Reviews project documentation from clients for compliance with all relevant SCI Team process and protocol actions, guidelines, and policies
  • Troubleshoots inventory shortages, vendor delays, and master data problems as appropriate.
  • Advises and communicates with other Supply Chain personnel regarding scheduled and unscheduled material needs, etc…
  • Provides support for and works in computerized inventory management systems such SAP, Ariba, SNC, Primavera, Access, Excel, ERS, EDI
  • Follows and promotes continuous improvement of overall performance, and of safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Attributes

  • Extensive experience with inventory and materials management for large projects
  • Knowledge of project and inventory materials management principles, practices, techniques, and tools on a very large scale
  • Ability to work with Vendors and manage within the terms and conditions of the purchase orders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and clients in a very challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizing and coordinating skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Records maintenance skills and knowledge of construction methodologies applicable to facilities/utilities design and construction
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment, even in the face of adversity
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards, and a strong positive attitude
  • Strong skills in the use of computers applications and related software output tools, etc..
  • Knowledge of computerized material/inventory management principles as related to supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
