DESCRIPTION

Costume Greeter- Sales Associate

Duration: 2 months or longer contract

Location: Pasadena, CA

Pay Rate: $13- $15/hr. on W2

JOB OVERVIEW

First contact for meeting and greeting customers as they enter the store, directing them to appropriate sales representatives, helping with service related functions within the Verizon Wireless Store including billing related inquiries and issues, processing bill payments, processing credits, entering orders and activating service. Assisting with stock replenishment and general store projects as needed. Required to provide exceptional service that builds customer satisfaction and encourages customers to remain with Verizon Wireless.

Hours: Hours will vary depending on the weekly schedule. Stores are open 7-days a week, scheduling flexibility is a must including nights and weekends.

Position Requirements:

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 1-2 years in retail sales
  •  High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be over 18
  • PC Skills (knowledge of Windows environment)
  • Inventory management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail store environment, standing on feet all day
  • Strong interpersonal skills, friendly outgoing personality

Desirable

  • AA in business administration or marketing a plus or equivalent work experience

DRESS CODE POLICY

Professional Dress Guidelines - Women

Women may wear:

  • Dresses within 3 inches of the top of the knee when standing
  • Skirts & suits within 3 inches of the top of the knee when standing
  • Dress slacks (corduroy or khaki pants may be worn if they are pressed & in good condition)
  • Collared shirts, blouses, turtlenecks, sweaters that are tucked in or do not reveal any midriff even when stretching or bending.
  • Jackets, blazers, or vests may be worn over the above
  • Socks or hosiery must be worn at all times
  • Shoes: professional close-toed heels or flats in good condition
  • Belts must be worn with belt loop style pants.

Women may NOT wear:

  • Open-toed shoes, open toed sandals, open heel shoes
  • Extremes in shoes should be avoided (i.e. work boots, brightly colored shoes, platforms shoes, flip flops, mules, etc.)
  • Provocative clothing, sun dresses, spaghetti-strap or sleeveless tops
  • High-slit skirts or dresses
  • Athletic or exercise pants, including sweatpants, leggings, spandex, leotards
  • Athletic or exercise shirts, including t-shirts, sweatshirts and polo type shirts
  • Shorts, Cargo or Capri pants
  • Sheer, see-through or low cut clothing or any style, which reveals midriff or cleavage.
  • Pants with pockets sewn on the outside of the pant or that have rivets are not allowed
  • Pants worn on the hips.

Other apparel:

  • Scarves may be worn around the neck that color-coordinate with the shirt and pants.
  • Socks are required
  • Name badges are to be worn while the employee is in the store.
  • Hats or any other type of headgear may not be worn (unless it is required for religious purposes).
  • Belts must be worn and coordinate with the color

  • Suits
  • Dress slacks (corduroy or khaki pants may be worn if they are pressed & in good condition)
  • A belt must be worn with pants that have belt loops
  • Collared shirts with ties. Shirts must be tucked in.
  • Turtlenecks with sport jackets or blazers
  • Sweaters, vests, sport jackets or blazers over a collared shirt with a tie
  • Socks must be worn at all times (no white socks allowed)
  • Shoes: professional black, brown or cordovan leather dress shoes or loafers in good condition

Men may NOT wear:

  • Shoes: worn shoes, tennis shoes, sandals, or sneakers
  • Extremes in shoes should be avoided (i.e. work boots, brightly colored shoes, flip flops, mules, etc.)
  • Athletic or exercise clothing, including sweatpants sweatshirts, t-shirts, and polo type shirts
  • Shorts
  • Cargo or any jean style pants
  • Pants with pockets sewn on the outside of the pant or that have rivets are not permitted.
  • Pants should not been worn hanging on the hips.

Other apparel:

  • Ties must be worn that color-coordinate with the shirt and pants.
  • Socks are required
  • Name badges are to be worn while the employee is in the store.
  • Hats or any other type of headgear may not be worn (unless it is required for religious purposes).
  • Belts must be one color (black, brown)

Personal Appearance/Hygiene:

  • As professionals, our store employees are expected to dress and appear in a manner consistent with the expectations of our customers. This includes practicing good hygiene.
  • Facial hair must be clean-shaven and beard/mustache must be neatly trimmed.
  • Gum chewing, food or drink is not permitted in customer facing areas.
  • Jewelry should be limited to the following:
  • 1-2 earrings per ear
  • No nose, eyebrow, lip or tongue rings or other visible piercing
  • No large, oversized gold/silver chains with/ without charms hanging outside shirts

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: We pay weekly every Friday, have direct deposit, and offer a competitive benefits package: Medical, Dental Vision, 401k plan, etc. - Benefits available shortly into this contract (30+ days - starting with the 1st of the month following 30 days of service).
