Position: OSP Engineer
Duration: 12 months

What you'll be doing...
You know a lot about outside plant engineering practices. You enjoy analyzing problems and having the autonomy to select and implement the right solutions. While you work well independently, you are also a great team player and enjoy leading colleagues and coordinating efforts to ensure best outcomes. No stranger to a fast-paced environment, you manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while staying focused on important deadlines. As a strong communicator, you can quickly build relationships with a diverse range of people and explain complex technical issues in a way that everyone can understand.
You'll need to have and know how to use:
Must have a working knowledge of telecom, more specifically fiber networking.
Must have a proficient working knowledge of GIS, even better if you have a working knowledge of 3GIS.
Must have a proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, as well as Google Drive.
Must be able to think critically and analytically.
Must be able to work with a team and have proficient communication skills.
Must be able to pay very close attention to detail.
Must be a quick learner.
The environment we work in is consistently changing from day to day so you must be adaptable to a quick changing environment.
Must be able to multitask efficiently.
Must know when to ask for help.
Must be able to use Verizon tools to do in depth research.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to work within a timeline if needed
Will support current Verizon Engineers in One Fiber project, this includes being assigned random tasks.
*Experience with vendor invoicing is a plus.*
Even better if you have:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields.
• A background in Outside Plant Engineering.
• Experience with designing fiber routes with drafting software.
• Experience gaining permitting and ROW agreements from municipalities.
• Vendor management experience.
• Equipment management background.
• Experience with windows-based programs and corporate database systems.
• Ability to adapt and learn new skillsets as well as project manage different aspects of site builds.
At a minimum, a 7-year background check, education verification, employment verification, and drug screen will be conducted upon hire. Your suitability for employment is contingent upon successfully passing these required pre-employment screenings.
