DESCRIPTION

Supply Chain Strategy Consultant
Ashburn VA
6 months or longer contract

The position entails support with the following:

  • Support with developing a 3-5 year rolling strategic roadmap/plan that accounts for cost benefits, ecosystem evolution and new initiatives. Specifically, this involves:
    • Analyzing and evaluating emerging and future supply chain trends and proactively drive the strategies and solutions; Influencing appropriate leaders to buy-in on strategy and drive the execution through transformation function
    • Collect and distribute competitive insights on latest in supply chain trends, news highlighting impact to the client's business
    • Identifying technologies that would drive transformation of supply chain and drive efficiencies. Would require business case analysis, operational understanding of the business and detailed market trend analysis
    • Assessing existing processes to understand shortcomings and recommending and implementing process changes that will drive step-function change
  • Identifying innovative supply chain startups and companies for the client to pursue based on identified strategies
  • Drive annual goal planning and assimilating/tracking annual targets on a regular basis
  • Participating actively and providing feedback during the ideation phases for transformative projects; Drive proof of concepts and pilots where appropriate and possible; Creating and defining innovative concepts and assist in driving these concepts into commercialization
  • Manage and drive transformation initiatives through systematic governance and councils
  • Drive the definition and development of strategic digital tools, partnering with Systems and IT
  • Evangelize the identified strategy across different levels and facilitate, coordinate and promote strategic discussions with multiple external organizations including vendors, technology and business partners to understand key industry trends and to communicate key strategic directions in a timely manner;
  • Assist and drive senior management presentations/planning meetings based on defined strategies and evolving trends

Required Qualification:

  • Advanced university degree, MS/MBA with engineering/technology background highly preferred; Operations/Supply Chain focus would be a +
  • 15+ years of experience in technology industry with in-depth knowledge of supply chain functions is required; Strategy Consulting experience Business Transformation/Strategy a big plus
  • Experience in a leadership role responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a strategic plan for an organization, company or business unit
  • Past success in establishing a clear focus, vision and direction of complex, large-scale commercial supply chain projects.
  • Significant experience with developing, implementing, and tracking metrics, data analysis, and reporting at the organizational level
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways
  • Comfort in working up and across the organization - working with senior staff members in line and staff organizations
  • Experience creating and presenting presentations to all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships
  • Proficiency in MS Office inc. MS Project, Excel & MS Power point
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage highly skilled teams is required, to undertake multiple initiatives simultaneously
