APR Consulting, Inc. has been engaged to identify a Telecom System Performance Engineer Location: Schaumburg, IL 60173 Position: Telecom System Performance Engineer

Duration: 12 months or longer

Job Description • Responsible for collecting measurement data to activate new sites and carriers in the network and identify areas where new sites/carriers may be needed. Creating new cell site translations and neighbor lists in support of regional build program activity. Support System Performance and RF Engineers in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems with new sites and carriers. Report problems to appropriate SP engineers.
Collect drive test data in support of performance evaluations.
• The contingent worker will need to supply his own car and gas.

• Work with a team of SP Engineers focused on enhancing the network performance via monitoring tools, processes and expertise.
• Perform outdoor and indoor coverage testing at various locations utilizing Android apps, DataPro with a GPS, a Scanner, and DMAT.
• Perform analysis on LTE and 5G data using industry tools to make decisions on performance and optimization.

Must have:
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field or equivalent work experience.
• General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:
ü System Performance optimization techniques for voice and data on Ericsson LTE infrastructure.
ü Test equipment including: DataPro, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, and spectrum analyzers.
ü Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
ü Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. 2 to 7 years of experience.
• Flexibility with work hours is required.
• Strong interpersonal and both written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills.
• Solid troubleshooting skills.
• High level of accountability, ownership and sense of urgency.
• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.

Functional Accountability
Responsible for supervision of a team and/or for specific projects or definable portions of larger projects or processes; creates practices that aid in the successful completion of projects within a product or functional area; typically reports to Manager (Band 6).

Individual Contributor Role
Uses professional concepts and company policies & procedures to solve a wide range of complex problems in creative and practical ways; makes recommendations that aid in the successful completion of initiatives within a functional area. Typically involved in one large and/or complex project at a time; develops schedules to ensure timely completion of the project; identifies appropriate resources needed.

Decision Making Authority
Receives general guidance for the accomplishment of short to medium term goals and operating objectives. Plans and executes own work. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Line of sight up to 1 year.

Work Complexity
Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems. Analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods & techniques for obtaining solutions.

Knowledge and Skills
Requires a range of skills within a professional discipline including familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Generally requires minimum of 4 yrs experience in same or related discipline
