DESCRIPTION

An aerospace client is looking for a Cable and Harness Technician that will manufacture cable / harness products.
Position: Cable and Harness Technician
Location: Goleta CA, 93117 (on-site)
Payrate: $36.87/hr on W2
Schedule: 9/80
Duration: 12 months or longer

** Possible contract to hire positions. **

Responsibilities
  • Reads and interprets work Instructions, schematics, wire tables, and drawings. 
  • Performing everything required to build harness assemblies from the ground up – pulling wire, stripping, crimping, soldering, connectorizing, electrical checkouts and potting.
  • Ensures quality of the hardware is maintained and company procedures are followed.
  • Has a great attention to detail.
  • Ensures work is done with completeness, accuracy, adherence to operation sheets, ISO procedures, schedules, and assigned tasks.
  • Provides regular communication to shop leads and Work Center management on status and technical issues.
Basic Qualifications:
  • US Citizen
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards including wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies.
  • Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Working experience with industry standards for connector.
  • Must have color vision to identify cables and wires.
  • Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Holds or has held IPC-J-STD Solder Certification
  • Holds or has held NASA.4 or (or IPC equivalent) Harness Certification
  • Familiarity with hand tools: crimpers, positioners, wire strippers, DMMs, HiPot Testing
  • Some mechanical assembly experience is a plus
  • 1-2 years of aerospace manufacturing experience
At a minimum, a 7-year background check, education verification, employment verification, and drug screen will be conducted upon hire. Your suitability for employment is contingent upon successfully passing these required pre-employment screenings.
