DESCRIPTION

JPL/NASA is looking to fill a system engineer I position in Pasadena, CA. In this role you will be responsible for the development, planning, and negotiation of Deep Space Network (DSN) antenna tracking schedules for various spacecraft.

 

Location: Pasadena, CA 91109 Position: System Engineer I
Pay Rate: $38.00/hr
Duration: 18 months or longer

Responsibilities:

  • Gain understanding of mission DSN tracking requirements.
  • Compute and analyze multi-mission DSN scheduling data and negotiate with other system engineers to finalize DSN tracking schedule.
  • Interact frequently with mission engineers, scientists, and all levels of management.
  • Deliver error-free products to spacecraft team.
  • Provide solutions to technical and engineering problems as they relate to scheduling the DSN.

 

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with peers to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, and be comfortable in a high stress position.
  • Work experience in any customer service position.
  • US citizen or permanent resident.

Optional/desired:

  • Python programming.
