DESCRIPTION

A chemicals/manufacturing client is looking for a Production Technician that will prepare compressed gas cylinders for use as required per work order and following all applicable procedures.

LOCATION: Morrisville, PA 19067 POSITION: Production Technician CONTRACT: 6 months or longer, temp to hire
PAY RATE:
$19/hr. SHIFT: 1st shift, Monday – Friday; 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare compressed gas cylinders for use as required per work order and following all applicable procedures. Preparation will include primarily internal cylinder shot blasting but can also include: acid & water washing, dressing outlet cylinder threads, painting, stamping, re-valving, pressure testing, vacuum bake and/or leak checking.
  • Select the proper packaging for a given product with minimal supervision.
  • Follow written protocols and determine proper preparation procedures for a given product grade and service.
  • Perform minor inspections and/or preventive maintenance on equipment and understand when to initiate proper escalation of equipment issues.
  • Maintain general work area as per 5S methodology.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable HS&E Standards and regulations including, but not limited to: PPE, Forklift Operations, Lock Out/Tag Out Program, Respiratory, Confined Space Entry, etc.
  • Daily inspection and operation of a forklift, jack pallet truck and other cylinder movement type equipment.
  • Provide information for and initiate proper reporting procedures for all safety and quality issues per on-site policies.
  • Assist in the maintenance and improvement of applicable site-specific procedures and protocols.
  • Accountable for the safety of all persons and the general public surrounding facility. Safety is a condition of continued employment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Good mechanical skills and aptitude
  • Full range of motion and ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment
  • Self motivated to learn
  • Willingness to work on different shifts as required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand, abide by and enforce stringent safety rules
  • Steel toe shoes required
