An aerospace client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. 

Location: Goleta, CA 93117
Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Pay Rate: $56/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure the most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that apply to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
  • Guides engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Design reviews, general concept approvals etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • 5-9 years relevant space experience
  • Bachelors or Masters
  • Should have thorough mechanically / electrically oriented manufacturing engineering experience (ideally in the Aerospace industry).
  • Has worked in space sector
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Competent in engineering drawings (GNT)  
  • Good communication skills
  • Needs to be able to work independently
  • Need to have problem solving experience, even better to be green belt or black belt certified.
  • Experience with spaceflight hardware strongly preferred
