The primary responsibility of the Technical Writer is to create, manage, and maintain documentation for intra and inter-departmental information security processes and procedures.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.’s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Position Overview


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Knowledgeable in information security concepts and practices.
  • Interview and shadow team members in order to create process and procedure documentation.
  • Write documentation that is easily understood.
  • Diagramming processes.
  • Manage many simultaneous writing projects and assignments.
  • Create and maintain meaningful metrics that reflect projects and progress.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.
  • Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years’ experience in professional technical writing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 5 years’ experience creating information security documentation, that includes the following:
  • Working with information security personnel to document their current processes and procedures.
  • Working with information security, information technology and business operations personnel to create inter-departmental documentation.
  • Creating, documenting and maintenance of processes and procedures
  • Process development
  • Information security certification relevant to basic security knowledge, such as a CISSP or GISP is desired. 
  • 8 years’ experience creating information security documentation may be substituted for a certification.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction.
  • Must have the ability to manage many writing projects simultaneously.
  • Must be an expert user of Microsoft Office including Visio and Project Manager
  • Must have an inquiring attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service focus, attention to detail, and process orientation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to distill and present information in a concise, succinct manner.
  • Flexibly adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects.
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to

  • Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
