Admin Clerk Finance
A utility client is looking for an Office Assistant who will provide clerical support to the Accounting unit of the Finance department.
Location: Diamond Bar, CA 91765
Position: Office Assistant
Pay Rate: $21/hr. on W2
Duration: Approximately 6 months (may be extended based on operational need).
Schedule: Four 10-hour days, Tuesday – Friday, with a 7:00 a.m. start time, ending at 5:30 p.m.
This will be an ONSITE role.
Typing Skills Test is required with each submission. Must reach at least 30 wpm.
Responsibilities:
- Examines invoices and other supporting fiscal documents for payment requests and other claims.
- Verifies payment approval and account codes to ensure invoices and credit card payments are properly authorized with correct coding.
- Reviews and reconciles company credit card statements with supporting documents.
- Contacts agency employees or vendors to obtain clarification on credit card transactions, claims or payments.
- Scanning and indexing hard-copy records into the document management system.
- Operates computer, typewriter, calculator, and a variety of automated data processing office equipment.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working in a financial or accounting environment, including experience with data entry, reviewing and processing vendor/claim invoices for accuracy.
- Experience working on finance-related clerical records such as invoices and claims, with the ability to reconcile and resolve discrepancies.
- Understanding prescribed clerical accounting practices and procedures.
- Good communication skills, with ability to interact with agency employees to obtain and/or clarify information concerning credit card payments.
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to scan and file documents in alphabetical, numerical, chronological and subject matter order.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Minimum typing speed of 30 net words per minute.
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
