Pay Rate: $42/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: Part time 8am-5pm, 25hrs/week minimum but potentially more depending on client need.
Primarily Remote (with occasional on-site responsibilities in Goleta or Santa Ynez Valley, CA)
Duration: Contract through April 2025 (potential for extension)
JOB SUMMARY
Cottage Health is seeking a highly skilled Philanthropy Coordinator to provide senior-level administrative and operational support for our philanthropic fundraising programs. This role offers a primarily remote work environment, with opportunities to attend on-site events or meetings in the Goleta or Santa Ynez Valley area as needed. The ideal candidate is an independent, proactive professional with expertise in project management, event coordination, donor relations, and database management.
This position supports the Cottage Health Foundation and Goleta Foundation, focusing on high-level donor engagement, event planning, and coordination of major giving programs.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
Provide senior-level administrative assistance to foundation executives.
Manage foundation operations, including scheduling board/committee meetings, preparing reports, and creating donor communication materials.
Maintain donor records, prepare giving reports, and ensure data integrity in the CRM (Raiser’s Edge).
Project & Event Management:
Coordinate donor engagement, cultivation, and stewardship initiatives.
Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns, with on-site participation when required.
Oversee the process for awarding scholarships, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Donor Relations:
Serve as a high-touch liaison with major donors and stakeholders.
Process charitable donations, generate acknowledgment letters, and assist with pledge fulfillment.
Data Management:
Track and analyze giving trends, prepare donor lists, and create reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in maintaining accurate and confidential financial records related to charitable contributions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., non-profit management, communications, marketing, business) or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of experience in administrative support, project management, or event planning, preferably within a fundraising or non-profit environment.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM tools.
Background in healthcare philanthropy or non-profit management.
