An aerospace client is looking for a Manufacturing Technician who performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. 

Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90278 (On-site)
Position: Manufacturing Technician
Pay Rate: $32.17/hr. – $38.81/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 24 months or longer
Schedule: 1st shift 9/80.  Overtime available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
  • Expectation is a self-starter to review requirements and execute on mechanical/electrical assembly processes on a daily basis.  Pneumatic testing and electrical testing is in scope of work when required at that level of hardware.
  • Electromechanical experience with propulsion assembly experience is a plus.
  • Will be trained on required in-house certifications and OJT to be familiar with the different types of hardware.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 7-10 years of experience.
  • Precision assembly
  • Mechanical fabrication skills – tubes, sheet metal
  • Electrical assembly – pin crimping, soldering, splicing, connector assembly, bonding.
  • Ideal candidate will have propulsion assembly experience, but we can train candidate with on-the-job training. 
  • Overtime is available.  On-call is a possibility for weekends and off hours.  Work hours is 9 hours a day, but have established core hours to be 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
