Pay Rate: $23.92/hr
Duration: 12 weeks
Expected Shift: Day 5×8-Hour (08:00 – 17:00)
JOB SUMMARY
Dental Billing & Managed Care Coordinator
Supports OHSU Dental Clinics
Onsite
Mon-Fri 8am- 5pm (1hr lunch)

Public transportation is highly encouraged. Daily parking fee $15.
One year of recent (within the last 5 years) experience in a medical or dental office setting, including high volume patient care, billing/collecting and/or obtaining insurance eligibility/care authorizations.
Experienced in utilization of electronic health records
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Services
• Responds to patient inquiries about account status. Helps answer billing questions on the phone or in person.
• Communicates with students or staff regarding patient financial status as needed.
• Supports PAR2 team members with tasks related to adjustments of accounts/treatment/payments as needed to correct patient account record; always within OHSU Financial policies and monitored by the manager.
• Supports processes of OHSU Clinics Daily Deposit for accounting, reconciling insurance electronic deposits as needed, supports processes related to patient payments, refunds and tax statements as needed
• Supports PAR2 team members with review of monthly overdue statements for all clinics/patients
• Makes proper documentation regarding account status and provides support for statements with overdue balances or other notices as needed
Insurance Services
• Attaches required information for support of claim submissions
• Reviews outstanding claims and contacts third party companies to determine why outstanding claims have not been paid or processed; notes each account with the explanation.
• Posts payments, adjustments, and transfers to the patient or insurance company balance based on policies, insurance denials, or other reasons. Makes proper documentation.
• Helps answer insurance questions for patients, students, and staff.
• Responds to EOB denials and submits requested treatment information to insurance companies if needed.
• Re-bills treatment to the patient or insurance company based on school policies, insurance denials, or other reasons. Makes proper documentation.
• Works with Managed Care Coordinators to ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations and obtain prior authorizations for treatment.
• Provides support to Managed Care team for prior authorizations submissions and follow up
• Provides support of Referrals required for care
• Provides support for verification of patient insurance coverage both private and Medicaid
Patient Services
• Provides excellent customer service by responding to patient/responsible party questions and complaints via phone and email and makes proper documentation about events or conversations.
• Monitors pending complaints and updates status of complaints.
• Communicates with students or staff regarding patient financial status; educates providers and staff on accounts and policies as needed.
• Analyzes delinquent accounts with regard to billing and payment history.
• Explains financial procedures and policies concerning patient balances to customers
Other
• Works on special projects as assigned by Manager.
• Helps answer phones and performs other duties to cover for vacation and illness within the Patient Financial Services department.Our client is the one of the largest Healthcare Staffing Provider in the United States, to be assigned at one of their affiliated hospitals/healthcare facilities.
