Manufacturing Technician 2
An aerospace client is looking for a Mechanical Assembler who will perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
Location: Oxnard, CA 11779 (On-site)
Position: Mechanical Assembler
Pay Rate: $29/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9/80, work 9-hr days on Mon-Thurs, and an 8-hr day every other Friday. It ends up being 80 hrs. over 9 days.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Swiss-army knife-type technician position.
- Technicians could end up performing any number of tasks.
- Examples of the kinds of tasks are as follows: assembling large tooling structures, using two-part epoxies for bonding, assembling small/delicate mechanical flight hardware, working with and assembling composite structures, and sewing/stitching mesh fabric.
- Use assigned work instructions and assembly drawings to perform an assortment of Technician tasks (see above).
- Knowing and understanding how to read blueprint-type assembly drawings is a big plus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Knowledge and experience with all common mechanical hand tools.
- Knowledge and experience with fasteners and torquing mechanical fasteners.
- Ability to read and understand blueprint-style mechanical drawings.
- An ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, ask questions, and fit-it within a “team” working environment is important.
