Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced Mechanical Engineer position that just opened in Manassas, VA. In this role, you will become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of job-related experience.

Overview:
Seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to become an integral member of the engineering team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.  

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Design and analyze components and electro-mechanical assemblies
•    Create and maintain mechanical solid models and drawings
•    Create and manage bills of material (BOM) within data management system
•    Develop fixtures and equipment to support testing and production efforts
•    Generate design and interface documentation
•    Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
•    Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis

Requirements:
•    Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. 
•    Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

Preferred Experience:
•    Strong proficiency with SolidWorks modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
•    Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
•    Experience with ruggedized electronics packaging for shipboard applications a plus
•    Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) a plus
•    Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
•    Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
•    Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
