Senior Manufacturing/Production Operator
Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Manufacturing/Production Operator position that just opened in Taunton, MA. The position will perform project tasks/assignments of a more complex nature ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. To be considered, you will have a High School diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Contract Duration: 12 months or longer
Pay: $ 25.11 /hour
Secret Security Clearance: Preferred at time of hire

Utilizing your manufacturing process skills, you’ll perform project tasks/assignments of a more complex nature ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. The Senior Manufacturing / Production Operator reads and interprets basic schematics and drawings, as well as follows methods, techniques, and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on subassemblies and units. We’ll rely on you to integrate sub-assemblies into final hardware, perform final assembly of small systems, perform basic electrical tests and perform more complex rework and refurbishment of hardware and systems.
Responsibilities:
• Perform project tasks/assignments of a complex nature
• Perform fabrication functions in a production or pre-production environment
• Dress, terminate and test cables and components
• Demonstrates the skills and knowledge required to effective and efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiring to ensure installations meet conformity
• Demonstrates effective rework techniques using acceptable practices including splicing, soldering and crimping per assembly drawing
• Assemble cable assemblies according to work instructions, diagrams, and schematics
• Perform soldering, crimping, and other assembly techniques to connect wires and components
• Conduct continuity on completed assemblies to verify pin out
• Maintain accurate records of assembly work as required through shop orders and ERP system
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report any issues or discrepancies to the Production Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain and operates equipment/tooling
• Experience Soldering to J-STD 001 preferred
• Requires intense concentration to assure accurate completion of technical assignments
• Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Knowledge of measuring equipment and math
• Proficient computer skills and the ability to use computer software applications to create cable sleeving etc.
• Previous experience in cable assembly or a related/equivalent field
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and schematics
• Proficiency in soldering and crimping techniques
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to work alone or as a part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to change direction
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Manual dexterity to handle small components or tools
• Ability to properly lift and move up to 25 pounds
