Analog Power Design Engineer
Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Analog Power Design Engineer position that just opened in McLeansville, NC. In this role, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent
Pay: $54/hour+ DOE
Telecommute: Hybrid
Overview:
As an Analog Power Design Engineer for Undersea Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems.
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
- High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
- High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology
What sets you apart:
- Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
- Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Circuit Design expertise
- Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
- Feedback / Control systems experience
- Power System architecture and grounding
- Isolated Switching Converters
- Transmission Line Effects in power systems
- EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc)
- Magnetics Design and High Speed Design experience are desirable
- Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
- The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
- Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
- Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
- Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
- Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
