Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Lead Systems/Electrical Engineer position that just opened in Manassas, VA. In this role, you’ll lead a small cross functional team responsible for the design, requirements, development, manufacturing, integration, production and life cycle maintenance of active sonar onboard all U.S. Navy legacy and emergent submarine classes. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of experience.

Contract: 24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent   

Pay: $79.39/hour
Schedule: Onsite

As a Lead Systems/Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead a small cross functional team responsible for the design, requirements, development, manufacturing, integration, production and life cycle maintenance of active sonar onboard all U.S. Navy legacy and emergent submarine classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with development, system engineering, and production teams to accurately identify, characterize, resolve, document, and track hardware deficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve transmit group hardware issues in the system integration and test, production, and power lab environments.
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain issues to program management and Navy customer team.
  • Create, review, and execute hardware design documentation such as interface control drawings, assembly drawings, test procedures, and other technical documents.
  • Research and develop product specifications and interface requirements.
  • Resolve complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design issues.
  • Evaluate components to determine performance impacts to existing designs.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to drive innovation and secure buy-in on concepts and ideas
  • Interact with customers at technical and programmatic levels.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Must have past leadership experience.
  • Understanding of power/analog hardware and systems, and electronics troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with hardware and system integration testing (Assembly Level Test / Unit Test / Integration Test / System Performance Test).
  • Expert-level understanding of hardware development processes throughout the lifecycle of the program or project
  • Experience with circuit card design using advanced materials and packaging techniques
  • Collaborative, creative thinker with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
  • Working knowledge of the Linux
  • Linear amplifier design, Electro-mechanical manufacturing
  • Power/analog hardware and systems
  • Computer Aided Engineering
