Energy Storage Engineer
An electric utility client is looking for an Energy Storage Engineer who will work closely with Senior Engineers to execute large scale Demonstration and Pilot projects in energy storage including emerging new storage technologies.
Location: Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid)
Position: Energy Storage Engineer
Pay Rate: $60/hr. on W2
Duration: 9 months or longer
Schedule: 1st shift, M-F, onsite on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
***The candidates need to be able to go on site twice as week, as the job will require some hands on testing and labs.***
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with Senior Engineers to execute large scale Demonstration and Pilot projects in energy storage including emerging new storage technologies.
- Activities may include development of engineering specifications, instrumentation and measurement planning and installation, executing testing in accordance with test plans, analyzing data and developing high quality reporting and presentations on findings.
- The work takes place in office, lab and filed locations depending on the project requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge of energy storage systems, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), and their deployment strategies. Understanding the technical requirements, safety standards, and performance metrics for energy storage systems.
- Proficiency in analyzing data and making informed decisions based on that data. This includes evaluating the feasibility of energy storage projects and understanding the impact on the electrical grid including fail safety design.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations. This also involves engaging with external stakeholders and customers.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems related to energy storage and utility operations. This includes staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the energy storage industry.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience modeling power systems using PSCAD or RTDS.
- Experience developing models for Energy Storage Systems.
- Experience in instrumentation and measurement of power systems.
- Knowledge of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for monitoring and controlling utility operations
