Remote Senior DevSecOps Engineer
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr. DevOps Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you’ll manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests on client cloud environments. You will lead, create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts and software to automate everyday operations. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of experience.

Contract: 24 months with possibility of turning permanent
Pay: $72.18/hour

Responsibilities:
- Manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests on client cloud environments.
- Lead, create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts and software to automate everyday operations.
- Monitor and maintain multiple DevOps environments.
- Responsible for the configuration, monitoring, and setup of backups.
- Assist development teams in building and deploying microservices-based applications in government cloud environments using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.
- Participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
Required Skills:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
- 4+ years of experience with Kubernetes runtimes such as AKS and EKS, with AKS preferred.
- Strong Experience in using Gitlab, managing and creating pipelines using yaml.
- Proficient in Kubernetes design patterns such as sidecar, init, behavioral, and structural patterns.
- Skilled in debugging Kubernetes-based applications using kubectl or other terminal-based tools to gather logs and diagnose issues with failing applications.
- Proficient in utilizing Kubernetes Tekton for automating CI/CD pipelines, enabling efficient and scalable deployment processes within containerized environments.
- Experience architecting and deploying Azure cloud services and infrastructure driven by Terraform IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
- At least 4+ years of software development experience, including SDLC.
- 4+ years of experience in at least one of the following scripting/programming languages: C#, Golang, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or containerd.
- Strong understanding of developing and deploying Helm Charts and Kubernetes Operators.
- Experience in configuring and managing applications within an Istio service mesh.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices with a focus on GitOps-driven automation, development, and testing, along with a strong working knowledge of Git source control management.
- Experience with DOD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), CIS (Center for Internet Security) benchmarks, and STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides) compliance desired.
- Ability to deploy and configure applications using Ansible (AWX).
- Desire experience with or knowledge of integrating AI/ML tools or techniques into DevSecOps processes for system self-healing
Desired Certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
