MUOS Lab & Deployment Technician
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an MUOS Lab & Deployment Technician position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you’ll act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. To be considered, you will have an Associate’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of turning permanent
Pay: $43.03/hour

The MUOS Lab & Deployment Tech will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following:
- Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
- Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
- Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems
Duties & Tasks
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems
- Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces
- Will be required to support Deployment activities at customer sites (CONUS and International)
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions
- Identifies and helps prototype new preventative maintenance tasks
- Will be expected to lead, direct, and organize Technician work
- Works with associates in other departments and understands cross-functional relationships
- May be required to support development of test specifications and procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways
- Understands implications of their work and makes recommendations for improvements
- Ability to perform duties and tasks with minimal supervision required
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external team members including customers
- Ability to use computers and software applications to assist in job execution, with special focus on Excel
- Mechanically inclined and able to maintain, repair, and install equipment that is part of a “live and operational” system
- Capable of working remotely with limited local support
