Our client, a global engineering, procurement, and construction company that collaborates with leaders in the energy, infrastructure, life sciences, advanced technologies, mining, and metals industries, as well as government agencies, is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer.

Title: Principal Structural Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 months or longer
Pay rate: $80/hr on W2 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction to assigned engineers
  • Conduct construction document reviews as required
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects
  • Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design
  • Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is required
  • Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering with a minimum of 15 years’ experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to specialized (nuclear or other areas) engineering design
  • Professional Engineer License preferred but not required
