A PCB Design Engineer/Electrical Engineer III position just opened up in Pasadena, CA at the JPL/NASA facility. In this role you will be responsible for PCB Design, Configuration and Programming. You must have 7+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering must be a US Citizen.

Pay Rate: $65.00+/hr. (DOE)
Duration: 20 months or longer

Work schedule: 5/40 or 9/80

Job Description:

Electronics Engineer to aid in the design of custom hardware. The candidate must be capable of implementing electronics circuit designs with digital and mixed signal circuits including schematic capture and PCB layout. The candidate will coordinate the analysis of electronics designs for parts stress and worst case analysis, and hardware build through the JPL electronics assembly section.

 

Project Information:

VERITAS will be the first NASA spacecraft to explore Earth’s sister planet Venus since the 1990s. The spacecraft will discover the secrets of a lost habitable world on Venus, gathering data to reveal how the paths of Venus and Earth diverged (https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/missions/veritas/overview).

JPL is developing the VERITAS radar digital subsystem. The radar is based on flight-proven hardware, combined with custom hardware designed for the Veritas mission. The radar processor uses Xilinx Virtex-5QV radiation-tolerant FPGAs on Compact PCI form-factor hardware.

 

Required Skills:

  • +6 years of Similar Experience
  • BS Electrical Engineering or Similar
  • Printed Circuit Board design with Altium Designer, Siemens HyperLynx, and SPICE simulation (eg., LTSpice) experience, for analog circuit simulation.
  • Test equipment configuration and programming.
