Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr. Principal Software Engineer position that just opened in Fairfax, VA. In this role you will lead a cross functional team responsible for migrating the TCS Platform as a Service (PaaS) from K8s to RKE2. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience. You must also be a US Citizen and have an active Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Rate: $94/hour
Duration: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent
Schedule: Hybrid

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As Senior Principal Software Engineer for the TCS Program, you’ll stand up and lead a cross functional team responsible for migrating the TCS Platform as a Service (PaaS) from K8s to RKE2.
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: hands on Kubernetes/RKE2 experiences, comfort with PaaS installation technologies (such as Kubespray), and technical leadership experience.
What sets you apart:
- Superior Red Hat Linux or CentOS Administration and deployment background with a working knowledge of systems
- Extensive professional experience with OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration/PaaS/Cloud technologies
- Certifications: one or more of Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Certified Kubernetes Admin (CKA), and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
- Agile experience preferred.
