Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Chief Engineer – Space Ground Systems position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role you will oversee intricate technology development and steer design processes, recommending advancements to replace end-of-life hardware. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related field and 15+ years of job-related experience. You must also be a US Citizen. This is a permanent/direct hire opportunity.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As Chief Engineer, you’ll leverage your extensive technical expertise to propel our Program Sustainment and R&D initiatives forward. Your responsibilities will span from crafting technical strategies and driving product innovations to spearheading technical responses to proposals and nurturing client relationships and the next generation of engineers.

  • Collaborate closely with Business Development to shape strategy and maintain regular engagement with Government sponsors, industry partners, and technical personnel.
  • Deliver technical responses to government and commercial proposals.
  • Foster collaboration among the company’s Chief Engineers across business lines on common technical issues and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive technical strategies, roadmaps, and product development plans.
  • Lead in-depth studies aimed at advancing program to a 5G network architecture and upgraded ground system.
  • Provide technical leadership in designing, analyzing, implementing, testing, and sustaining capabilities in this adapted 3G WCDMA cellular system for the military and associated ground system.
  • Deliver quick and thorough resolution of non-conformances and other challenges that might arise, including leading failure investigations and presentation of findings to internal and customer review boards.
  • Mentor and guide engineering team members to foster their professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 15+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 13 years of job-related experience.
  • Chief Engineer level with Space Ground Systems experience with Wave Form and 5G highly desirable
