An aerospace client is looking for an Electrical Technician who performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas.

Location: San Diego, CA 92127
Position: Electrical Technician
Pay Rate: $30/hr. – $40/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 4×10 (M-Th)
Shift: Ability to work any shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment.
  • Conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks.
  • Makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • As part of the Avionics team, will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting multiple UAV programs.
  • Will be able to assemble flight-worthy air vehicle harnesses and LRUs, and interpret schematics, diagrams, and plans to perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and developmental engineering tasks.
  • Work will be guided by shop theory and your skills in 5S, as you work from BTP prints.
  • Engineering data and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Will play an important role in ensuring the quality of the products through your attention to detail and your accountability, notifying lead personnel or QA supervision of any malfunctions, defects, and damages of equipment, material, and product.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • High school diploma/GED and 4 years of electronics experience
  • Ability to work any shift.
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word and Excel)
  • Aerospace equipment experience
  • Experienced in Calibration and Preventative Maintenance of Electronic Equipment
  • Ability to work in a versatile environment, performing parallel tasks and duties.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply information.
  • Soldering experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair support equipment.
  • Familiar with voltage circuitry
  • Ability to generate and support disposition of discrepancy documentation.
  • Ability to adhere to GSE processes, procedures, and protocols.
  • Romer Arm, Terahertz experience
