LOCATION: Washington, DC 20049

CONTRACT: 12 months




Working under the direction of the Social Entrepreneur in Residence, Social Connectedness, the Program Coordinator will pursue isolation alleviation goals with entrepreneurial zeal, business methods, the courage to innovate and overcome traditional practices to scaling solutions. The Program Coordinator will play a central role in the program launch and will provide daily operational support on the Voice-activated Technology Solution.


Responsibilities: Work closely with the Social Connectedness team and other Impact team members within the Foundation to scale the Voice Buddy program nationally through senior housing Manage day-to-day activities to sustain VTS clients and partner engagement to help empower low-income older adults to increase their social connectedness Assist in tracking expenditures Coordinate with AARP Foundation staff to respond to client's concerns and feedback about program operations, training, and product assistance Facilitate program participant focus groups as necessary to gather insight on program operations Coordinate with the Foundation's implementation partners (product development and quality control partners) to analyze and use client data to improve digital products and services and long-term strategy for sustainable growth of Voice Buddy Plan on-the-ground stakeholder meetings or community-based events to advocate or promote VTS and serve as its 'brand ambassador' to elicit potential revenue opportunities Required Skills: An ideal candidate should have some of the following characteristics Minimum bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of working experience in private or social sector Strong verbal and written communication skills Passion for working with vulnerable or underserved populations Entrepreneurial-minded problem solver, comfortable working in fast-pace and sometimes uncertain environments Previous experience as community manager or similar capacity Background in business, marketing or related areas; Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Desired Skills Previous experience and knowledge of program management Previous experience in design thinking and UX/UI/VUI, especially for Voice-First and digital products Knowledge and experience in applied psychology or behavioral economics Knowledge and experience in working with older adults Background working with affordable housing, senior housing, property management, resident services
