Our Backstory
1970
1970s: Before APR, there was Linda Stone.
Being an independent IT contractor was a novel thing in the 1970s. But it was the role that gave APR Founder and CEO Linda Stone a novel idea. There was a growing need not only for contractors, but for the right people paired with the right jobs in the right companies. So, she started a business. Aerospace and utility companies were Linda’s first clients.
1980
1980s: APR is born.
To put it plainly, Linda Stone was great at IT staffing. Her client list grew, and she expanded beyond just IT offerings. In 1980, APR Consulting was incorporated. Our first office opened in Tustin, CA, in 1987. Candidates submitted resumes on paper. Typewriters, white-out and fax machines were all the rage.
1990
1990s: APR expands into more markets, more industries.
APR was the top staffing provider for aerospace and tech companies in Southern California by the 1990s. We pushed our boundaries a little further, expanding service to multiple states and placing talented people in finance, energy, utilities and manufacturing. That’s about when we opened our Diamond Bar, CA, office, which became our corporate headquarters.
2000
2000s: Recession hits hard, APR keeps going strong.
2010
2010s: WeCare, always will.
Almost 40 years later, APR serves 40 states, 20+ industries and countless MSP/VMS contingent workforce programs—organic growth that happened because we’ve always taken the care to pair the right people with the right jobs in the right companies. In 2016, we made things official. Our WeCare Program is a dedicated platform for increasing engagement with our contractors and employees, and delivering resources to help them succeed.
