Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Position: Field Support Technician / Client Tech Analyst
Pay Rate: $ 26.66/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
 
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. Works with end-users and IT departments in order to identify production issues. Deploys and relocates computer hardware. Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems and component parts used in repair work. Prepares progress reports for all work performed. Receives direction from supervisor on work priorities and assignments.
 
Support Activities:

  • Provides production support for computer workstation

and other computer devices, in accordance with Information Services policies
and procedures.

  • Acknowledges receipt of the issue in a timely manner and provides customer with estimated time to resolution.
  • Evaluates severity and urgency of issues and manages workload to ensure that the highest priority requests are handled expeditiously.
  • Monitors assignments in the queue to ensure resolution within established service level agreements.
  • Performs troubleshooting to determine the probable root cause and resolves problems.
  • Ensures that testing is performed to validate that all hardware and software functions correctly.
  • Hands off problems that cannot be resolved on-site to other support groups.
  • Provides phone support, as needed, to ensure adequate Help Desk coverage.
  • Provides guidance and training for less experienced staff by responding to questions and conducting one-on-one or group training sessions.
  • Applies software patches.
  • Upgrades operating system.
  • Sets up training room devices in preparation for classes.
  • Coordinates the reservation of loaner devices.
  • Provides instruction for the use of loaner devices.
  • Participates in after business hours on call rotation, responding to problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintains availability by checking e-mail and voice-mail systems at regular intervals, carrying assigned mobile phone at all times during business hours and keeping the mobile phone charged and in working order.
