Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced Engineering Technician (Electrical) – 2nd Shift position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will support experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment throughout development, integration, and validation phases. To be considered, you will have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma plus 5+ years of related experience.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Working closely with Engineering, Operations Support, and cross?functional teams, the Advanced Engineering Technician supports a wide range of engineering activities including design support, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electrical and electro?mechanical systems. The role supports experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment throughout development, integration, and validation phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, diagrams, and written instructions
  • Construct, modify, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and adjust a wide variety of electrical, electronic, and electro?mechanical tools, equipment, and systems
  • Build, modify, and support prototype electrical assemblies, including wiring, cabling, power distribution, signal routing, and grounding
  • Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting using standard laboratory equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
  • Conduct, analyze, and document statistically based experiments to define process parameters and support engineering development efforts
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret test and measurement data to identify cause?and?effect relationships and recommend corrective actions or process improvements
  • Implement and document complex technical solutions to improve processes, reliability, and efficiency
  • Design and construct basic tooling, fixtures, and test aids to support unique or non?standard engineering tasks
  • Support system integration, test, and checkout activities by documenting electrical and technical findings in a clear and traceable manner
  • Perform work in compliance with established electrical workmanship and safety standards

What you bring to the table: 

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience), plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant hands?on technical experience OR a High School Diploma plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated hands?on experience with electrical assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting
  • Solid working knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, basic circuit theory, and electrical safety practices
  • Proficient in the use of fabrication tools and equipment for electrical and electro?mechanical hardware
  • Proven ability to fabricate, assemble, and support complex electrical and electro?mechanical hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and wiring documentation
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted technical and engineering theory
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and problem?solving ability

Clearance Requirements:

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience fabricating and testing electrical harnesses, cables, and connectors
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC?A?610, J?STD?001)
  • Experience supporting electrical test, verification, and system integration activities
  • Background working in a lab, R&D, or prototype development environment
  • Exposure to optics, RF, or laser?based electrical systems (as applicable)
