Advanced Machinist Technician
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a position for an Advanced Machinist Technician to support manufacturing operations for mission-critical aerospace systems. This role involves precision machining, fabrication, and production support using a variety of machine tools in a fast-paced engineering and production environment.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Onsite). Hybrid/remote options are not specified; this position is onsite.
Position: Advanced Machinist Technician
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Schedule: Second Shift
Pay: $31.71 per hour
Education/Experience: High School Diploma required; technical certificate or 3+ years of machining experience preferred
Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required; U.S. Government security clearance not required
In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Perform machining and fabrication tasks using lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, routers, saws, and related equipment
- Cut, shape, machine, and finish materials to tight tolerances based on engineering specifications
- Set up, operate, and maintain manual and/or CNC machining equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD designs, blueprints, and process sheets
- Inspect completed parts using gauges, fixtures, calipers, micrometers, and precision measurement tools
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with process control and quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to meet operational goals
- Support continuous improvement activities, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized machining and production environment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required plus a technical certificate or 3+ years of machining, fabrication, or manufacturing experience.

- Experience operating:
- Lathes
- Mills

- Drill presses
- Saws and related machining equipment
- Precision machining and tight-tolerance manufacturing experience
- Setup and operation of bench and floor machine tools
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret:
- CAD drawings
- Blueprints
- Process documentation
- Engineering instructions
- Experience using inspection and precision measurement tools
- Basic knowledge of machining materials, fabrication methods, and production processes
Additional Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
- Good communication and teamwork capabilities
- Basic computer and production system skills
- Experience working in manufacturing, machining, aerospace, or defense production environments
- Interest in process improvement, automation, or AI-assisted manufacturing workflows
Clearance Requirements:
- Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Due to the nature of work performed within the facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
