Payroll Tax Analyst
Our client is a worldwide telecommunications company that offers voice, data and video services and solutions on its award-winning networks and platforms, delivering on customers’ demand for mobility, reliable network connectivity, security and control.
We are looking for a Payroll Tax Analyst to maintain process accuracy by working with other Global Payroll Tax analysts to review and update payroll tax desktop procedures.
Location: Lake Mary, FL – Hybrid
Position: Payroll Tax Analyst
Pay: $31.43/hr. on W2
Duration: 7 months or longer
Hybrid In office days: Three a week – Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.
Shift: Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm. Weekends may be required during peak season with advanced notice.
What you’ll be doing…
Description: As a Tax Analyst, you will manage a robust controls environment for Global Payroll. Your role involves maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, as well as the client’s policy, to mitigate tax risk exposure.
You will maintain process accuracy by working with other Global Payroll Tax analysts to review and update payroll tax desktop procedures.
This position will:
- Manage the bi-weekly creation and verification of Executive Reports for oncycle processing, specifically conducting preparation and validation activities on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
- Execute the validation and processing of weekly tax operation reports every Thursday, ensuring accuracy across all weekly validation reports.
- Resolve outstanding items within the Return to Cash Log and address all identified Tax Credits to maintain financial accuracy.
- Maintain the accuracy of Desktop Procedures (DTPs) through continuous collaboration with other Payroll Tax team members to keep documentation current.
- Provide comprehensive team coverage during PTO and flex time periods to ensure operational continuity.
- Support a variety of Special Projects, including:
- Completing the retention of historical tax data for Merger & Acquisition (M&A) activities.
- Assisting with and supporting all necessary registration requirements for Merger & Acquisition (M&A) activities.
- Integrating credentials and tax account information from acquisitions into the VZ Master Schedules.
What we’re looking for…
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of four years of equivalent professional experience.
- At least three years of relevant work experience, specifically including multistate tax and large-scale system tax environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize critical deliverables.
- Proven track record of working effectively both as part of a team and autonomously.
- Strong collaboration skills for building cross-functional relationships with Payroll, Tax, and external taxing agencies.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as CPP or FPC.
- Proficiency in leveraging emerging AI tools responsibly, with mastery of related in-demand skills like data analysis, research, and communication.
- Expertise in analytical and quantitative reasoning alongside effective critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface clearly with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with accounting applications such as Workday, ADP, and HCM PeopleSoft.
- Self-motivated professional capable of independent action across organizational boundaries.
