Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an IT System Administrator position within their high-technology defense systems team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support classified Restricted Ground Systems by maintaining secure IT environments, supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, monitoring system security posture, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements. The position is based in Scottsdale, AZ and is fully on-site.

Contract Length: 12–24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $69.40 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
Schedule: First Shift

Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship required)
 

In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:

  • Support Information System (IS) Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain system accreditation packages and supporting security documentation.
  • Perform weekly system audits, media reviews, and hardware/software configuration management activities.
  • Conduct monthly vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation efforts with team members.
  • Execute security testing and evaluation activities to validate implementation of security controls.
  • Support vulnerability assessment, mitigation, and continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Review and analyze security event and information management (SIEM) data.
  • Conduct end-user account audits and security compliance reviews.
  • Perform incident response activities and remediation actions when required.
  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with approved System Security Plans (SSPs), policies, and procedures.
  • Support system upgrades and change control activities during program execution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows environments.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity assessment and hardening tools including SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, ACAS, and Nessus.
  • Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Experience with Assured File Transfer (AFT) procedures.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity compliance requirements and RMF processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering and security teams.

Preferred:

  • DoD 8570 certification meeting IAM Level I requirements (Security+ CE, CAP, GSLC, or equivalent).
  • Active adjudicated Polygraph.
  • Experience supporting classified DoD information systems.
  • TS/SCI clearance with current access eligibility.
  • Interest in applying AI and automation for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
