Systems Engineer – CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF)
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Systems Engineer – CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF) position that just opened in Taunton, MA. In this role, you will support the integration of advanced defense systems by working across hardware, software, and firmware environments. You will be responsible for integrating Single Board Computers (SBCs), FPGAs, GPUs, and other system components into OpenVPX-based platforms while supporting system validation, troubleshooting, and test activities. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Master’s degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.

Contract: 12–24 Months or Longer
Pay: 73.51 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree plus 3+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience supporting systems integration activities in complex technical environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills involving hardware, software, and firmware systems
- Experience developing and executing system-level test procedures
- Knowledge of requirements management and systems engineering methodologies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OpenVPX chassis and card configuration
- Familiarity with CMOSS and/or SOSA standards
- Experience integrating Single Board Computers (SBCs), FPGAs, and GPUs
- Knowledge of automated test scripting and test automation tools
- Experience with network analysis and troubleshooting using Wireshark
- Experience with VMware and Linux-based virtual environments
- Background supporting defense, aerospace, or military systems
- Experience with systems modeling tools and full systems development lifecycle activities
Responsibilities:
- Integrate advanced hardware components including SBCs, FPGAs, GPUs, and related technologies into system chassis
- Support hardware, software, and firmware integration efforts across the system lifecycle
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated system solutions
- Develop and execute detailed test procedures to verify system functionality and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and firmware issues
- Support system validation, verification, and performance testing activities
- Configure and support OpenVPX-based hardware platforms
- Utilize network analysis tools to diagnose and resolve communication issues
- Assist with virtualization and virtual device environments using VMware and Linux platforms
- Support implementation of CMOSS and SOSA architecture standards where applicable
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical process enhancements

Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work performed
