An electric utility client is looking for a Distribution Planning Engineer who will develop new methodologies and tools to perform scenario analysis and recommend ones that could enhance the company’s in-house transmission and subtransmission planning process capabilities.

Location: Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid)
Position: Distribution Planning Engineer
Pay Rate: $70/hr. on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 1st shift, M-F, onsite on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Typical Responsibilities

  • Climate Adaptation Vulnerability Assessment
  • Overseeing the in-depth study scope for Distribution related CAVA , overall study schedule and management for at least 2 of the in-depth studies
  • Distribution, Subtransmission, and Transmission System Planning experience
  • Conduct, lead, and support system level, asset level (e.g. Poles, transformers) vulnerability impact and mitigation.
  • Mitigation to include strengthening infrastructure, creating new ties and capacity, replacement of existing infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Transmission / Subtransmission System Planning
  • Previous utility system planning experience
  • 10+ years of system planning experience
  • Ability to conduct system planning analysis leading to the identification of needs and mitigations
  • PSLF
  • Ability to distill technical information for executive level presentation and updates
