Pay Rate:
$25.00 – $29.00/hr
Duration: 4 Months, Temp Only
Schedule: Mon – Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM
Overtime: Occasionally, During busy equipment need weeks
Job Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Technician will performs Preventative and Corrective Maintenance on medical equipment and electronic devices. The BMET must be able to analyze and interpret schematics and block diagrams, perform Preventative Maintenance, incoming inspections, Electrical Safety Inspections and repairs in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Demonstrate a working knowledge and use of required test equipment and the electronics, including pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Assist department supervisor in documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies and Policies.
- Evaluate and monitor service programs for effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and timeliness of completion.
- Interpret service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information required to perform and troubleshoot equipment
- Performs modifications to equipment as per guidance of the manufacturers
- Assist in the implementation of Preventative Maintenance procedures
- Coordinates with other departments on maintaining equipment on mobile clinics including logistics and tracking of shipments
- Ensures proper service delivery by working with, directing, and documenting activities of subcontractors, vendors and outside service technicians
- Provide in-services and training to clinical staff on safe operations and care procedures
- Provide technical support to clients, providers and clinical staff
- Maintain documentation on all maintenance, incoming inspections and repairs performed
- Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions and return to manufacturers specifications
- Performs performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on biomedical equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources including manufacturer documentation, internet research and diagnostic codes
- Ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment
- Motivated, self-starter with attention to detail and innovation
- Project Management and equipment life cycle management
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Knowledge of computers and skills used to interpret error codes, replace power supplies, defragment hard-drives
- Adequate IT, networking and computer skills
- 10% travel may be required within the United States
- Must be able to pass Federal background check and drug testing
- Minimum of 1 year in the Biomedical industry
- X-Ray/CT and or Laboratory experience preferred
- CBET, CLES, CRES, CHTM preferred
- High School diploma or GED required, A.A.S. Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military training preferred
