Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of job-related experience.

Contract: 24 months or longer
Pay: $75.28/hour
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
We are seeking a CL – Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team responsible for designing advanced electronic hardware. You will play a pivotal role in developing new 3U VPX modules that enhance the capabilities and cyber-resilience of mission-critical systems.
You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, schematic capture, routing constraints definition, PCB/PWB routing oversight, and support for manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification.
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: use of lab test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, experience designing PCBs/PWBs using Siemens Xpedition, and knowledge of VITA/VPX standards including VITA 46 and 65.
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
- Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
What sets you apart:
- Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab test equipment.
- An understanding of the hardware development process throughout the lifecycle of a program, including design for manufacturing and design for test.
- Knowledge of Siemens Xpedition for schematic entry, constraint definition, and signal integrity/power integrity analysis.
- Experience designing PCBs/PWBs, including using advanced materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed interfaces (10G+ Ethernet, PCIe Gen 4+, etc.)
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
- Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
- Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively.
