Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr. Advanced Systems Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, as the Senior Advanced Systems Engineer – Tracking Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.
To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $88.45/hour Contract W2
Schedule: Hybrid
Clearance: Secret required
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer – Tracking Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.

- Ground system design or scheduling knowledge
- Tracking mission design knowledge
- Satellite communications knowledge
- Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
- System/Software design for cloud-based microservice architecture
Preferred Experience:
- Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on:
- Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw
- Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling
- Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
- Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline
- Decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
- Coordination with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meet system mission needs
