A utility client is looking for a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for providing assistance in the Financial Services unit of the Finance department.

Location: Diamond Bar, CA 91765, ONSITE
Position: Financial Analyst
Pay Rate: $43-$55/hr., depending on experience
Duration: Approximately 6 months (may be extended based on operational need)
Schedule: Four 10-hour days, Tuesday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

OVERVIEW OF ASSIGNMENT
Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, the assignment of the Temporary Financial Analyst may include the following duties:
 

  • Grant management
  • Budget preparation
  • Financial analysis of receipts and expenditures
  • Special fund tracking
  • Program audits
  • Fiscal year end processing
  • Assistance preparing Annual Comprehensive Financial Report

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field, including the completion of core courses in accounting, cost accounting, or government accounting.
  • At least two to three years of experience:
    • Conducting a variety of administrative, financial, and operations studies requiring knowledge of financial management, work measurement, and systems analysis.
    • Preparing budgets, account analyses, operational audits, and making financial projections.
    • Gathering financial data, conducting studies, making recommendations, and developing financial reports.
  • Experience managing grants, including gathering and preparing grant information, as well as preparing subvention proposals is desirable.
  • Experience working at a public agency or organization is desirable.
  • A Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license and/or MBA is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), automated budget and accounting systems, financial computer applications and related systems.
  • Exceptional writing, analytical and oral presentation skills.
