An aerospace client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA 90278 (Onsite)
Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Pay Rate: $33.36 – $41.14/hr. on W2 (DOE)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9/80 A
Shifts: 1st Shift (7am – 4pm)
Travel: Yes, 25% of the Time

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining MBOM to meet requirements.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
• Investigates and initiates corrective actions of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
• Develop Visual Work Instructions and provide clear assembly instructions using MES.
• Typical day look like: Mainly involved incorporating design changes into visual work instruction and planning. Supporting any issues on production floor. Conducting peer reviews.

Basic Qualifications:

• US Citizenship is required.
• Engineers with 3+ years of experience.
• Communications are key for this role. As everything is moving extremely fast paced, the candidate must have great communication skills on meeting deadlines, sharing roadblocks, discussing project milestones.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge in Manufacturing Execution Systems: CATIA, Root Cause Corrective Actions, SAP.
