Role Summary
The In-House Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the company’s daily financial records and ensuring accurate, up-to-date accounting. This role supports the financial health of the business by maintaining precise bookkeeping, handling invoices and payments, and assisting with basic financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Record all financial transactions in the accounting system
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and cash accounts
  • Ensure all entries are properly documented and filed

Accounts Payable

  • Process supplier invoices and verify accuracy
  • Prepare and schedule payments to vendors
  • Maintain organized records of all payables
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding billing issues

Accounts Receivable

  • Issue customer invoices
  • Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Reconcile customer accounts
  • Support cash flow monitoring

Payroll Support

  • Prepare payroll data such as hours worked, expenses, and bonuses
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers or accountants if applicable
  • Maintain payroll-related records
     

Taxes & Compliance Support

  • Prepare documents for VAT, sales tax, or other tax filings
  • Support external accountants or auditors with required financial data
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures

Reporting

  • Prepare basic financial reports (cash flow, expenses, profit & loss support)
  • Provide regular updates on the company’s financial situation
  • Assist management with budgeting and forecasting data

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized financial files and digital records
  • Improve bookkeeping processes and accuracy
  • Ensure confidentiality of financial information

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable with QuickBooks, other accounting software and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
