Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Test Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will support tactical communications programs working within cross-functional engineering teams to deliver rapid prototype, mission-critical solutions in a secure environment. The Test Engineer will support the integration, verification, and validation of complex embedded systems within a Unified Test Framework (UTF) environment, ensuring product quality, reliability, and compliance with program requirements. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 6 months of relevant experience.

Position: Test Engineer
Contract: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $44.09/hour
Schedule: First / Second Shift

In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:

  • Generate system test work products in accordance with applicable standards, processes, procedures, and tools
  • Develop test and diagnostic programs including test fixtures and supporting equipment
  • Create specifications and procedures for new products and system enhancements
  • Develop and execute functional, environmental, operational, and performance tests on hardware, software, and integrated systems
  • Design cost effective test and troubleshooting methods across all phases of product development
  • Create comprehensive test plans covering all aspects of system functionality
  • Develop and support automated test scripts using Python 3.9+
  • Implement robust verification and validation methodologies
  • Participate in system integration activities across hardware, firmware, and software teams
  • Establish integration procedures that ensure smooth interaction between system components
  • Support Agile development and test execution processes
  • Produce detailed test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Maintain accurate records of test activities, results, and corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant job related experience; OR
  • Master’s degree with 6 months of relevant job related experience

Clearance Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Knowledge Skills And Abilities:

  • Experience with test equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and USRP platforms
  • Strong understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and methodologies
  • Experience with object oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages
  • Proficiency in Python based test automation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and test effectiveness
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in fast paced, cross functional environments
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technical concepts
  • Comfortable taking on increasing responsibility and technical complexity
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development
