Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Missile Tracking Systems Engineer (Secret Clearance) position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will support ground entry points, operations centers, enterprise test and checkout capabilities, and infrastructure management enabling space-based missile tracking missions. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 8 years of experience.

Pay: $92.98/hour

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Missile Tracking Systems Engineer to support U.S. Space Force programs at its Scottsdale, Arizona facility. This role supports the Space Development Agency (SDA) Ground, Management, and Integration (GMI) program, contributing to the development and deployment of next-generation ground operational systems for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA).

Role and Position Objectives
As a Missile Tracking Systems Engineer, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for the evolution, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced ground mission systems. You will support ground entry points, operations centers, enterprise test and checkout capabilities, and infrastructure management enabling space-based missile tracking missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering activities, including decomposing requirements into system architectures, internal and external interfaces, and system behavior designs
  • Design and support pre-planned and ad-hoc scheduling to maintain situational awareness of satellite and payload capabilities for missile tracking
  • Analyze and fuse missile tracking data from space-based sensors to ground systems for rapid processing and dissemination
  • Collaborate across systems engineering, integration, testing, and operations teams to ensure mission performance and system reliability

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience

OR

  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience
  • Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred

Required Technical Skills

  • 15+ years of recent experience designing and developing complex systems using advanced algorithms
  • 10+ years of recent experience developing and tuning algorithms to meet specific mission parameters

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Department of Defense Top Secret clearance required at time of hire
  • Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within secure facilities

Bonus Skills You Might Bring

  • Experience with missile tracking system design and architecture
  • Experience applying sensor fusion techniques
  • Experience designing logic and scheduling satellite services to support missile tracking missions
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
  • Experience with image processing, including data collection, handling, storage, and analysis
