Advanced FPGA Engineer
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced FPGA Engineer position that just opened in Bloomington, MN. In this role, you will support mission-critical defense and aerospace programs by performing ASIC and FPGA design, verification, and documentation for high-performance and secure systems. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related STEM field) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or a Master’s degree with 3+ years).

Position: Advanced FPGA Engineer
Contract: 12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $81.92/ hour
Schedule: First Shift CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire.
In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Define, design, verify, and document ASIC and FPGA developments throughout the full lifecycle
- Determine architecture, simulation approaches, and detailed design strategies
- Define module interfaces and support all aspects of device design and simulation
- Evaluate process flow including high-level design, synthesis, place-and-route, timing, and power utilization
- Create test and simulation plans, verify results, and analyze system performance
- Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools
- Support process improvement initiatives for ASIC/FPGA development
- Generate technical engineering products using appropriate standards, processes, and tools
- Contribute to feasibility analysis for design proposals and specifications
- Select components and equipment based on defined requirements and reliability standards
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior engineers as needed
- Plan and execute project tasks independently with limited supervision
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; OR
- Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at time of hire
- U.S. citizenship is required
Knowledge Skills And Abilities:
- Highly proficient in ASIC/FPGA engineering concepts, principles, and design techniques
- Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA processes and related disciplines
- Expertise in design tools and methodologies for ASIC/FPGA development
- Ability to create and validate design concepts, test plans, and simulation strategies
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and technical documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly report issues and corrective actions
- Creative thinker with the ability to multi-task and work under limited direction
- Ability to collaborate with senior engineering teams and interface with customers as needed
