Position: EVS Aide
Pay Rate: $19.70/hr
Duration: 16 weeks
Expected Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
EVS Discharge Tech
- KPI is to clean and turn a room in 60 mins or less
- Need healthcare room attendant experience
Position Summary
The EVS Housekeeper – Discharge Cleaning Specialist is responsible for performing thorough, high-quality cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms following discharge. This role plays a critical part in infection prevention, patient safety, and room turnaround efficiency.
We are seeking detail-driven professionals who understand that every discharge clean directly impacts the next patient’s care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete discharge cleaning of patient rooms, including:
Bed, mattress, and furniture sanitation
- High-touch surface disinfection (rails, call buttons, switches, handles)
- Bathroom cleaning and disinfection (toilets, sinks, showers)
- Floor cleaning (mop or auto-scrub as appropriate)
- Follow hospital-approved cleaning and disinfection protocols, including proper dwell time
- Utilize appropriate PPE and follow isolation precautions (Contact, Droplet, Airborne
- Ensure rooms are fully reset, sanitized, and inspection-ready for incoming patient
- Remove trash, linen, and biohazard waste according to policy
- Restock room supplies as required (hand care products, paper products, etc.)
- Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Respond promptly to discharge notifications to support efficient patient flow
- Use cleaning chemicals and disinfectants safely and according to manufacturer guidelines
- Document completed rooms and tasks per department procedures
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or EVS experience preferred (healthcare strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting practices
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and checklists
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30–40 lbs
- Ability to push carts and equipment for extended periods
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout shift
