Senior Digital Hardware Designer
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Digital Hardware Designer position within their high-technology defense systems team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support mission-critical national security initiatives by developing advanced radar detection, communications equipment, and digital signal processing systems. The position is based in Scottsdale, AZ, with flexible on-site or hybrid work options available.

Position: Senior Digital Hardware Designer
Contract Length: 12–24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $93.41 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience
Schedule: First Shift
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret SCI Obtainable (U.S. citizenship required)
In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Research, design, develop, and test advanced electronic equipment and systems, including radar detection and communications systems.
- Design and develop multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) with controlled impedance and blind micro-vias.
- Analyze and validate signal integrity, crosstalk, and other high-speed digital design considerations.
- Deliver innovative, flexible, and integrated solutions aligned with evolving customer needs.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to programs aligned with organizational strategy.
- Stay current with industry trends and ensure alignment with best practices and standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
- Extensive experience designing multi-layer PCBs with controlled impedance.
- Proficiency with microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and System-on-Chips.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, crosstalk, and high-speed digital systems.
- Demonstrated initiative, independent judgment, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts.
- Experience with Mentor design tools.
- High-reliability or space-grade system experience.
- Experience with worst-case analysis and stress analysis.
