Advanced Engineering Technician
Our DoD/Aerospace client is seeking an Advanced Engineering Technician for an onsite contract role in McLeansville, NC. This position supports hands-on fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment for mission-critical defense programs.
To qualify, candidates must have an Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years of relevant technician or advanced manufacturing experience. Strong machining skills (manual & CNC) are required. U.S. citizenship is required due to work performed in secure facilities.
Location: McLeansville, NC (Onsite)
Position: Advanced Engineering Technician (Contract)
Contract Duration: 12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay Rate: $31.71/hr
Schedule: First Shift
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fabricate, modify, assemble, and test prototype electro-mechanical systems

Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics

Perform machining using manual and CNC equipment (HAAS mills, 4th/5th axis, lathes)

Use SolidWorks or CAM software for fabrication support

Apply GD&T principles and precision measurement tools

Design and build custom tooling and fixtures
-
Troubleshoot and improve technical processes

Support experimental and specialized test equipment development
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Associate’s degree or equivalent technical experience
-
3+ years of machining / engineering technician experience
-
Advanced manual and CNC machining experience
-
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAM tools

Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Advanced machining experience using both manual and CNC controlled equipment, including:
- HAAS Mills
- 4th and 5th Axis machining
- Lathes
- U.S. citizenship required due to work performed in secure facilities
