Duration: 12 months or longer
Description:
As a Marketing Strategy Manager, you will serve as the primary engine for converting various data points and insights into the client’s strategic roadmap. You will move beyond data reporting to deliver the “So What”—synthesizing competitive maneuvers, technological shifts, and internal KPIs into high-impact marketing recommendations that define where the client’s Business plays and how it wins across Business Markets, Enterprise, and Public Sector segments.
The Marketing Strategy Team’s Role:
- Strategic Synthesis: Translate fragmented market signals and technology trends into a cohesive “VBG North Star” marketing strategy for executive leadership and marketing teams.
- KPI Governance: Define and align high-order brand and performance KPI’s (Trust, Price Premium, Moment, etc.)”.
- Executive Storytelling: Partner cross-functionally to distill complex performance data into compelling narratives that drive organizational alignment.
- Future-Proofing: Continuously monitor emerging tech (AI, Edge, Private 5G) to optimize marketing performance and identify “White Space” opportunities before competitors.
- KPI Governance: Define and align high-order brand and performance KPIs (Trust, Price Premium, Momentum) with long-term investment priorities.
- Portfolio Alignment: Ensure every campaign, from Small Business to Global Enterprise, reflects a unified strategic direction while meeting segment-specific revenue targets.
Individual Responsibilities (Analysis & Strategy Focus):
- Build Partnerships & Collaborate on data across VBG: Foster internal collaborations to gather and disseminate essential data.
- Technological Trend Mapping: Analyze the evolution of the B2B tech stack and 5G landscape to advise the organization on how to pivot messaging and channel strategy for maximum “Dynamic Brand” momentum.
- Advanced Data Synthesis: Aggregate data from internal sales funnels, external market share reports, and customer feedback to answer: “What does this mean for our 12-month roadmap?”
- Portfolio Gap Analysis: Evaluate the VBG product portfolio against market demand to identify where marketing strategy must shift to drive higher “Worth the Price” perception and margin protection.
- Performance Optimization: Regularly audit marketing plan performance against changing market conditions, providing the “So What” analysis that leads to budget reallocation and strategy refinement.
- Executive-Level Briefing: Build and deliver high-stakes presentations for VBG leadership that do not just report on the past, but offer predictive insights and actionable strategic pivots.
- Competitive Intelligence & Strategic Positioning: Conduct deep-dive analysis of competitor ecosystems (AT&T, T-Mobile, Big Tech) to identify threats and market gaps; translate these findings into specific “Move/Counter-move” recommendations for VBG.
What we’re looking for…
You’ll need to have:
- The “So What” Factor: Proven experience in a strategy-heavy role where you converted complex information from multiple sources into a clear, actionable “Direction for Growth.”
- Advanced Market Analysis: 6+ years of experience in market assessment, competitive benchmarking, or management consulting within the B2B sector.
- Strategic Storytelling: The ability to visualize data and build executive-ready Google Slides that tell a story, not just show a chart.
- B2B Portfolio Experience: Experience managing or analyzing complex product portfolios (like Telecommunications or SaaS) across varied segments (SMB to Government).
- Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in Google Sheets for financial modeling, market sizing, and trend extrapolation.
- Proactive Problem Solving: A track record of identifying a market shift before it appears in standard reporting and recommending a strategic response.
- AI-Driven Analysis: Experience using LLMs (Gemini, ChatGPT) to synthesize large volumes of competitive transcripts, earnings reports, or market research for rapid assessment.
Even better if you have:
- MBA: Strong foundational knowledge in competitive strategy frameworks (Porter’s Five Forces, Blue Ocean, SWOT).
- Vertical Expertise: Deep understanding of the specific technology needs of Enterprise Business Markets and Public Sector clients.
- Matrix Influence: Ability to drive strategic consensus across highly matrixed teams without direct authority.
