Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Sr Electronics Test Technician position within their high-technology defense systems team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support engineering and testing activities involving prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental circuitry, and specialized test equipment for mission-critical defense technologies. The position is based in Canonsburg, PA and is fully on-site.

Position: Sr Electronics Test Technician
Contract Length: 12–24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $33.93 per hour
Education/Experience: Associate’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent with 1+ year of relevant experience
Schedule: First Shift

Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance Obtainable (U.S. citizenship required)
 

In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:

  • Support engineering activities including design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical systems.
  • Perform component-level troubleshooting on analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics assemblies.
  • Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate faults.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
  • Conduct functional and environmental testing to verify repairs and system performance.
  • Identify failed or out-of-spec electronic components and support corrective actions.
  • Document failure modes, root causes, and corrective actions within maintenance and quality systems.
  • Provide technical support to production, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Assist in developing troubleshooting procedures, test plans, and repair documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Strong understanding of analog circuits including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies.
  • Knowledge of digital circuits, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.
  • Familiarity with power electronics including linear and switching regulators and motor drives.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic test tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
  • Clear computer and test equipment knowledge.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred:

  • 1st Class FCC license.
  • Solder Repair certification.
